Brands spend lakhs of rupees on photographers, designers, and video editors to make their products look good online. What if I told you a small business owner in India can now do all of that — edit photos, run a full product photoshoot, and make trending reels — completely free, from a phone, with no camera and no editing software?

The tool that makes this possible is Gemini, Google’s own AI. In this guide I’ll show you how to create images and videos with Gemini, step by step, so your business looks like a big brand without spending like one.

This is Days 40–45 of my free “100 Days of AI” series, put together into one complete guide.

Why Gemini is perfect for Indian creators

Before the how-to, understand why Gemini is such a strong choice — because this is the “with that, also add this” part most people miss.

Gemini is built by Google, which means it already understands you better than most tools. It handles India’s native languages — Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati and more — beautifully, so you can talk to it in your own language. It has a massive 1-million-token context, meaning you can hand it something as large as a 500-page document in one go. And it’s already connected to the Google apps you use every day — YouTube, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Gmail. On top of all that, it can create images and videos with Gemini for free. That last part is what we’ll use for your business.

Superpower 1 — Edit any photo for free (image editing)

We waste so much time and money getting a single photo edited — running to editors, buying software — and still don’t always get what we want. Gemini fixes that.

Go to Gemini and open Images. Upload your photo. You can either edit it using the ready templates, or — for full control — give it a prompt describing exactly what you want. In my video I uploaded a child’s photo and asked it to make it Independence-Day themed and remove the key from the child’s hand. In seconds, Gemini converted the whole photo to the theme, with the key gone. Then I just downloaded and shared it. You can make edits like this endlessly, for free.

Superpower 2 — A full product photoshoot without a camera

This one is a game-changer for anyone selling a product. No studio, no camera, no editing — and it’s free.

Go to Gemini and click Images. Upload a simple photo of yourself holding your product (or however you’re comfortable). Then give it the prompt for the shot you want. Gemini produces a beautiful, professional product image — and if you want that extra “wow” effect, a second prompt polishes it even further. In my video I did a full photoshoot of a local Uttarakhand drink this way, and the results looked like a proper brand campaign. Your product can look exactly like this, or better.

Superpower 3 — Ask about anything, live (Gemini Live)

Still using Google Lens to identify products or objects? That’s outdated. Gemini can do it live, on a video call.

Open Gemini and tap Live. From the options, choose the first one and your camera opens. Now point your phone at whatever you want to know about — a plant, a product, anything — and just ask Gemini. In my video it identified a plant instantly and explained it in simple words. You can use this for quizzes, assignments, product research — anything you can point a camera at.

Superpower 4 — Make trending videos and reels

Those short cartoon-style videos earning money on Instagram and YouTube? You can make them yourself with Gemini — for free.

Go to Gemini and open Videos. At the top you’ll see many templates — pick one, or build a video from scratch with a prompt. In my video I gave one prompt and within about 10 seconds Gemini generated a complete video. Since these short videos are trending right now, you can download yours and post it straight to Instagram and YouTube — and work toward monetising your channel.

Your free marketing studio is ready

Look at what Gemini just replaced — for free:

  • A photo editor (image editing)
  • A product photographer and studio (product photoshoot)
  • Google Lens and a research assistant (Gemini Live)
  • A video editor (reels and trending videos)

For a small business owner, this is a complete marketing studio in your pocket — no cameras, no software, no monthly bills.

If a non-technical B.Com graduate like me — who once sold newspapers and faced 12 job rejections — can create images and videos with Gemini, so can you.

Can I really create images and videos with Gemini for free?

Yes. Gemini’s image and video features let you edit photos, run product photoshoots, and generate reels at no cost. You only need a Gemini subscription for heavier use, but you can start free from your phone.

Do I need a camera or editing software?

No. You just upload a simple photo or type a prompt. Gemini handles the editing, the product shoot, and the video generation for you.

Is Gemini good for Hindi and Indian languages?

Yes. Because it’s built by Google, Gemini understands and responds well in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati and other Indian languages, so you can use it in your own language.

What is Gemini Live?

Gemini Live lets you point your phone camera at any object and ask about it in real time — a modern, smarter replacement for Google Lens.
